SERVICES

  • Through-Hole Assembly — Components are mounted by inserting leads into holes which are then covered by solder.
  • SMT Assembly — Components are mounted by placing them directly onto the PCB’s surface.
  • Mixed Technology Assembly — Both Through-Hole and SMT components are housed on the PCB.

ASSEMBLY ADVANTAGES

  • Single or double-sided mixed technology or SMT (Surface Mount) for PCB assembly.
  • BGA, micro-BGA, QFN, CSP and any leadless devices assembly with 100% x-ray inspection.
  • PCB board components, including all types of BGAs, QFNs, CSPs, 0201, 01005, POP, and Pressfit components in small quantities.
  • DFA process identifies almost all manufacturing issues before actual assembly saving production holdups.

NO NRE

Traditional PCB Assembly tooling fees cover a broad range of services. A majority of them fall under NRE charges, or non-recurring engineering charges. Sierra Circuits waives the tooling fees on all orders. The chart below describes what the tooling costs covers. Check out the differences between traditional tooling procedures and the more modern procedures Sierra provides.

Sierra Circuits’ Methods

Traditional Methods
    • Using LDI offers better layer-to-layer
      registration.
Traditional Printing
  • Artwork programs include plot files for
    individual film generation (NRE) and
    individual negatives (tooling).
Automated Testing
    • Flying probe benefits include “soft touch”
gold pins leave little to no markings on
your pads for better assembly quality.
Traditional Testing
  • Test fixture drill programs (NRE).
  • Test fixture programs (NRE).
  • Test fixture plates (Tooling), which can be
    dedicated or temporary.
Assembly — NRE Fees Waived
  • Pick and Place programs (NRE).
  • Stencils, typically stainless steel (tooling).
  • Dedicated fixturing for reflow (tooling).
