Ben Buck designed a BGA to package a chip that records data from particle detectors in high-energy atomic physics experiments. Sierra Circuits fabricated the BGA substrate as well as readout boards that incorporate the packaged chips. The boards are used in the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Buck is an electronics engineer at MIT Bates Research and Engineering Center.
