Hole density is calculated using the following formula:

Hole density specifications for NoTouch PCBs are as follows:
For boards up to 1 sq. in.: We allow up to 100 holes/sq. in.
For boards between 1 and 2 sq. in. area: We allow up to 75 holes/sq. in.
For boards larger than 2 sq. in.: We allow up to 50 holes/sq. in.

0.250 in. (250 mils). Also note that non-plated holes must not touch any copper.
Green LPI only; we recommend that openings in the solder mask layers should be 0.003 in. larger than the copper feature on each side.
Example: If you have a rectangular pad then solder mask opening around the pad will be overall 0.006 in. larger in each dimension.
Please note: To ensure proper solder mask adhesion between solder mask clearances, we now require a minimum of 0.004” (4 mils) between the solder mask clearances.
White only. Silkscreen is allowed on top and bottom of the printed circuit board.

NoTouch PCBs are simple, standard technology PCBs. For example, the following features are NOT ALLOWED in NoTouch orders:

Getting your NoTouch PCBs assembled by Sierra?
If you send your NoTouch PCB for assembly in Sierra Circuits (say, using our Web PCB service), please note that:
You accept that these NoTouch PCBs are not electrically tested. You agree to carry all the risk of assembling electrically un-tested PCBs.
Sierra will add one (or possibly 2) buffer day(s) after NoTouch order is delivered, before starting assembly. This extra day is required to order components / do kit audit.
Board outline is required for all orders and should be placed on one of your solder mask layers. If there is no solder mask, then place the outline on one of your “working” layers. We allow irregular shapes, but please ensure the board does not have more than 16 edges.
For rounded corners, the radius of the corner must exceed 0.05 in.
NOTE: We reserve the right to cancel orders that have excessively complex routing. Such orders can be accomplished through our Web PCB or custom order systems.
Outline and corners
Cross hatching is not allowed. Many CAD systems leave gaps in fill areas when using 45-degree lines. For NoTouch, you must use 0-degree and/or 90-degree lines to do the fill.
Please make the filled areas using 0.01 in. outlines with 0.001 in. overlap.
Notches are allowed. You can have up to 6 notches, but every notch must be at least 0.1-in. wide. If a notch is less than 0.1 in., our router may ignore your spec and make it our minimum width.
Not offered on our NoTouch product. Please use our Web PCB offering instead, if electrical testing is required.
NoTouch PCBs ship by FedEx or UPS only. You can use your FedEx or UPS account number, if you wish.
Also, Will Calls are allowed for a $15 service charge.
Credit card only
Customer must be careful about accurately doing layer assignment in the online system. Customer must also accurately put in polarity (positive or negative) information for the layers.

All layers must be aligned and NOT mirrored.
The layers should provide a view as though you were looking at it from top straight down to the bottom. To ensure this, we recommend double-checking this through a Gerber viewer; not simply relying on the view from your design software.
Occasionally, we notice a misalignment problem before the board is built, and we may correct it for you. But, generally, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure your layers are aligned correctly and not mirrored.
Note: We put a small 6-digit order # on each board for easy identification during fab process. This will either appear on the top or bottom silkscreen or etched into the bottom copper layer.
Sierra standard stack-ups for 2, 4, and 6-layer NoTouch PCBs.
In our NoTouch PCB service, while we will typically use the constructions shown, we reserve the right to change them at any time without notification. (E.G. within the given overall thickness the dielectric thicknesses may change.)
Only rigid boards. Turnkey Pro service provides both fabrication and full assembly of your boards (including component procurement).
We expect boards to be generally rectangular in shape. Notches, cutouts and slots are allowed (some restrictions shown below).
Boards will be built to IPC-6012 Class 2 – No Coupon Spec. In this online offer, we do not provide any microsection certificates or IPC coupons to customers.
Fabrication of ITAR designated jobs?
Yes, your board can be RoHS if you choose RoHS-compliant surface finish (ENIG). You have an option to not have any RoHS markings on your board if you so choose.
2 layers, 4 layers, 6 layers, 8 layers
Single lamination double-sided or multi-layer boards only. In this online offer, we do not provide boards that need multiple laminations or have HDI features.
High-Density Interconnect (HDI)
No. In this online offer we only provide single lamination PCBs with through-hole vias.
We can manufacture your PCBs that have via-in-pad features. An extra process of non-conductive filling will be done on all vias, to ensure good soldering at assembly. Such vias must be 6 mils or more in size. In Turnkey Pro service, we only offer 7 days, 10 days and 15 days turnkey when your board has via-in-pad features.
Data for PCBs
For PCBs: We prefer RS-274X extended Gerber format. If your file is not in RS-274X, send an aperture file. Please see FAQs below for what files to include.
Data for Assembly
For assembly: You will need to upload your BOM (excel format) online for quoting. In the final package, we will need the assembly drawing and XY data also. See sample BOM format.

In this online service, you cannot specify controlled dielectric, but we offer +/-10% controlled impedance (see below).
This means in your design, you are specifying the width of certain traces and spacing to achieve a specific resistance. In your impedance modeling, use the Dk for material 370HR. We expect that, in your fab drawing, you will have an impedance table that CLEARLY identifies the target impedance(s), the layer(s) on which they exist and the specific trace widths/spaces to be controlled. See a sample format for impedance table. Do note that in this online service, our controlled impedance offering has certain limitations: Only offered for boards up to 6 layers only available with +/- 10% tolerance. You can have controlled impedances on up to four different layers on your board. On any layer, you can have up to two different controlled impedances. Our engineers will meet your controlled impedance requirements using our own stack-up. (All we need is your controlled impedance info. We do not need and may not use any specific controlled dielectric information you provide.) If your controlled impedance requirements exceed this spec, please ask for a custom quote.
Multiple Parts in one design
To keep our online service low-priced and hassle-free, we keep it simple. We do not allow different PCB designs and multiple BOMs to be combined in one order. Our system can only accept design files for a single circuit board with a single BOM. We cannot merge BOMs, de-duplicate multiple BOMs, etc.

Up to 10 plated slots allowed per board. Up to 10 non-plated slots allowed per board. Up to 10 cutouts allowed per board. Up to 10 notches allowed per board. (If any of the above allowances are exceeded in your design, we can still process it for a minimum $100 extra lot charge on your order. We will get your approval before doing so.) Minimum inside radius (for any notch, cutout or slot) = 20 mil (0.02″). Minimum width (of any notch, cutout or slot) = 40 mil (0.04″).
Vendor markings include Company Logo, UL marking, Flammability, etc. Such vendor markings will be put in bottom Silkscreen.
IPC coupons & Microsection reports
Not provided in this online offering. Only available in custom ordered products.

Rework like cutting traces, soldering wire jumpers, and cables onto the boards are not allowed. Assembly of special items like PEM nuts, turrets terminals, rivets, and press-fit connectors are not allowed. (To get any of these extra assembly features, please ask for a custom quote.)
