iPhone, Samsung, Nokia, LG, Google: It’s Raining Smartphones!

If you need a new smartphone, now is the time to get ready to go shopping! Samsung already released its new S8 Active device last month but iPhone 8, Galaxy Note 8, Nokia 8, Google Pixel 2 and more are still to come. Here is a non-exhaustive list of the most awaited phones of this fall.

Samsung S8 Active

Available in stores since August 11, Galaxy S8 Active comes in Meteor Gray or Titanium Gold, and is priced at $850. Not bad for a tougher device that comes with a metal frame – the smartphone was designed to be more rugged. Samsung says S8 Active is shock, shatter, water, and dust-resistant.

iPhone 8

We are finally just a few days away from the release of the new iPhone. We do not know yet what Apple is going to name it – iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone Pro or iPhone Edition? – but its price should be less than $1,000. This was the biggest concern of Apple’s lovers who were afraid to not be able to afford the brand’s latest device. Rumors indeed claimed that the smartphone could cost up to $1,200. Nothing is certain yet, however, the price should be $999. Still expensive, we know. iPhone 8 will be available in Jet Black, Black, Silver, Gold, and Rose Gold. It will be unveiled on September 12.

Revealed on August 31, LG V30 is a rival for smartphone giants iPhone and Samsung. Pre-orders are expected to start on September 17, with an on sale date of September 28. The device is rumored to be sold at $700. It will come in Titan, Silver and Pink. Its P-OLED display will delight virtual reality aficionados.

Motorola Moto X4

After the Moto Z range, Motorola is coming back on the smartphone market with Moto X4. The device is not small but it sure is not big either. The company wants to offer an affordable smartphone above all. The latest price rumor suggests Moto X4 will start at around $350. Sterling Blue, Gold or Super Black, just pick a color! Moto X4 should be released by the end of September or in October.

Nokia 8

When we say Nokia 8, we automatically think of “Bothie”, the amusing feature that Nokia has been teasing for weeks. Basically, you will be able to use front and rear cameras simultaneously with what Nokia calls Dual-Sight mode. Now it is possible to do a live video on Facebook Live or YouTube Live showing your face as well as what you can see in front of you. To use “Bothie”, you will probably have to spend less than $700. Only the European price of 599 Euros has been revealed so far.

Unveiled on August 23, Note 8 will be available in stores on September 15. Its retail price is $960, and it comes in Midnight Black, Maple Gold, Orchid Grey and Deep Sea Blue. Note 8’s spacious 6.3-inch display will allow users to watch stunning videos, edit photos, play games, and use two applications at the same time.

Sony Xperia XZ1

Unveiled on August 31, Xperia XZ1 is definitely the smartphone you need if you love photography! With its 19 MP camera, you will capture amazing images. Sony’s flagship device will be available in stores from September 19 in Black, Moonlit Blue, Warm Silver and Venus Pink. As for the price, it is of $700 in the USA – and $600 for the Xperia XZ1 Compact available from October 4.

Google Pixel 2

Google will release Pixel 2 alongside Pixel XL 2 on October 5 according to Twitter tipster Evan Blass. Pixel 2 will use Android Oreo with improved notifications and a better battery management among many other features. The device will come in Quite Black, Very Silver, Really Blue, Abundantly Red, and Red / Black. Rumors claim that Pixel 2 will cost more than its predecessor, which means it is likely that you will have to pay more than $750 for it.
