The IPC recently announced IPC-6012 Revision D. This update includes specs for rigid printed printed circuit boards, and is being released alongside IPC-6012 DS, which addresses military and aerospace requirements.
John Perry, director of printed board standards and technologies at IPC said:
“The IPC-6012D revision represents a significant body of work by the IPC D-33a Rigid Printed Board Performance Task Group. A revision effort spanning five years, there are hardly any pages in the new revision where some level of content change or addition did not take place.”
Revision D Updates Include:
- Dielectrical removal updated requirements
- HASL solder pot updated requirements
- Printed board edge updated requirements
- Marking and soldermask coverage updated requirements
